About Indy

Indy Takhar is a hardworking and motivated physiotherapist that is driven to ensure your rehabilitative needs are not only met but exceeded. She believes that you are a whole person and not just an injury and truly believes in that therapy needs to look at your mental, emotional and physical health.

Since  graduating in 2012, Indy has taken numerous courses and will continue to do so to provide exceptional care to her patients. Indy specializes in working on the hands, the upper extremity, neurofunctional acupuncture and neurokinetic therapy.

Outside of work, She enjoys hiking, cooking and travelling, always planning her next big adventure. Indy loves to be with her family and friends and laugh as often as possible.

About Hiten

Registered Physiotherapist, Certified Gunn IMS Practitioner, Gokavit Transverse Technique practitioner (GTT)

Hiten Thakker holds a Masters in Rehabilitation Sciences from McMaster University. He is certified in Acupuncture, Advanced Neurofunctional Sports Performance, Orthopaedic Manual Therapy and Certified GUNN IMS, Certified Gokovi Transverse Technique specializing in chronic pain.

He has received a Program Excellence Award from the Faculty of Health Science Graduate Program and Postdoctoral Studies, and is currently a member of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association Orthopaedic Division.


In addition to his formal education and professional accolades, Thakker has a passion for treating pain, as well as understanding the biopsychosocial aspect of it. He is excited by the continued expansion of this field, which challenge and motivates him to work harder and achieve better outcomes for his patients.

Thakker’s practice favors a holistic approach that looks beyond structural diagnosis to provide a full context of the patient. His treatment is complemented by the use of methods such as yoga and medical acupuncture, as he attempts to treat both mind and body to achieve physical relief and meaningful functional change.

In his personal life, Thakker enjoys travel, yoga and reading Hindu Philosophy, which allows him to explore the deeper aspects of life and meditation.

Haley Carter


Registered Physiotherapist

About Haley

Haley is our in house vestibular therapist, she has a wide range of experiences in the rehabilitation field.  These experiences have taught her to embrace learning opportunities and be able to customize clients’ therapy to best meet their physiotherapy needs. Haley enjoys working with a variety of conditions and populations including neurological conditions (Stroke, Brain Injury, Concussion, Dizziness, Vertigo, etc)  complex orthopedic injuries (Post-surgical fractures, Neck pain, Back pain, Post-surgery etc) and even pediatrics (Down Syndrome, Gross Motor Milestones delays or difficulties, etc)! She has even taken advanced courses in vertigo and dizziness.

Haley loves to teach clients about anatomy, injuries and the human body. To Haley, a holistic approach is key to the best Physio IT recovery.

Whenever Haley isn’t working she enjoys travelling, trying new restaurants, spending time with family and friends, and being outside as much as possible! 

Merissa Scott

About Merissa

Merissa believes in holistic care and has a passion to help clients achieve functional outcomes and resume doing what is meaningful to them. She has a keen interest in hand therapy and appreciates the important role our hands play in all aspects of daily lives. Merissa completed her Masters of Science in Occupational Therapy at Western University and holds a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from McMaster University.

Merissa’s experience working with children to help develop their fine and gross motor skills has reinforced her conviction that each person’s therapy journey is different. She is attentive to client’s concerns and understands the mental and physical recovery often required to achieve goals. Merissa enjoys learning from each client and is committed to continue developing her knowledge and skillset to provide exceptional care.

Her personal focus on health and wellness is complimented with interests in spending time at her cottage, travelling, creative arts and being active.

Huma Rana


Registered Dietitian

About Huma

Huma can help you understand nutrition, so you feel empowered to take personalized action in your own life.

Huma graduated from the University of Toronto’s Master of Public Health in Nutrition & Dietetics program. She is licensed in Ontario, Canada with experience tailoring complex nutrition information to suit her clients’ needs.

She has worked in various settings from clinical, to community programming, to government and policy work. Huma is a certified diabetes educator,  supporting clients in a variety of areas such as heart  and bone health, in addition to offering employee wellness seminars by combining her knowledge of nutrition and exercise.

She speaks Urdu, Punjabi and Hindi, and loves to work with multicultural clients. Huma enjoys pomegranates, crafts with her sisters, and is trying to improve her French language skills. She is on the hunt for the perfect slice of chocolate cake, so feel free to share a lead!

Katie Donald

Administrative Assistant

About Katie

Katie has over 6 years experience in the administrative and customer service field. She completed the two-year Office Administration Executive program and loves working with people.

Katie is always smiling when you walk in the door and her goal is to make your experience at our clinic a smooth and pleasant one. She enjoys seeing the results and successes of all patients that walk through the door until their final “graduation of therapy” day. Katie has seen first hand the difference of how Physio IT enhances the day-to-day lives of our patients.

When Katie isn’t working she enjoys spending time with her family, friends and travelling wherever she can. 

Zoey Brown

Registered Massage Therapist

About Zoey

Zoey is a registered massage therapist who graduated from the Canadian College of Massage and Hydrotherapy in 2018.

She has a wide range of experience treating a variety of clients, including people who were in motor vehicle accidents or suffer from an acute or chronic injury, or are there for relaxation. Zoey is a firm believer of using massage to practice self-care, but it is also a vital part of the physical and mental healing process. She performs Swedish Massage and Deep Tissue Massages depending on the client’s needs. Massage can help with relaxation, improved circulation, release of nerve compression, alleviate pain and reduce stress. She works with each client to develop a customized therapy plan to help them achieve their goals.

In Zoey’s spare time, she enjoys being around family and friends, and her dog Maverick as much as possible! She also loves to travel, explore and learn new things.
