With the COVID-19 pandemic in mind, a lot of folks have been asking me if there is anything they can do to ‘boost’ their immune system. In simple terms: We can make sure our immune system is healthy, but we cannot ‘boost’ it.
Right now there is no known direct link between diet and COVID-19. However, we do know that eating a healthy diet can:
- Make sure your immune system is ready to fight diseases, such as COVID-19, so you do not get sick as easily.
- Be able to fight off the disease, so you do not get very sick.
Nutrients, such as vitamin A, vitamin C, zinc and more, play an important role in our immune system. They build important parts of our immune system, act as antioxidants and more.
