I hope everyone is staying safe and healthy, at Physio IT, we are back to re-open and seeing our amazing clients again!
During this time away from the clinic, I was able to attend an amazing virtual Vestibular Rehabilitation learning opportunity back in April and also attended a virtual Vestibular Rehabilitation Health Summit.
For those of you that do not know, Vestibular Rehabilitation (VR) is a specialized therapy form that is an exercise-based program designed to reduce vertigo and dizziness; poor balance and/or falls; and gaze instability. A person may require VR if they develop vertigo, dizziness,or following a concussion or brain injury.
This was a virtual conference put on by 360 Neuro Health out of Austin, Texas. This conference reviewed excellent topics by experts in the field including physiotherapists, optometrists, physicians. This opportunity reviewed the connection between the visual and vestibular system, new and varied treatment techniques, factors that may delay recover, VR in concussion, and other vestibular disorders (vestibular migraines , atypical benign paroxysmal positional vertigo-BPPV, motion sensitivity).
Have you been suffering with feeling off balance, onset of room-spinning feeling with head movement (vertigo), dizziness, poor balance, or have a diagnosis of a vestibular disorder?
If so, give the clinic a call to book your in-person or virtual appointment so we can get you back to feeling more balanced, improve dizziness and vertigo!
