- Did you know that even if you have a physical job, that doesn’t mean you are doing enough physical activity for your body?
- Did you know that you don’t have to be injured to be treated?
- Did you know there are ways to work with your body to prevent injuries?
And our therapists are here to help!
What does that look like?
- The therapist would do an assessment to find out what you do with your body. i.e. repetitive work, sports and hobbies
- Then do a physical assessment: testing muscles, nerves, anatomy trains and see where you can improve. This can help you improve at work, sport and truly help you to optimize your health.
- After you have identified areas of improvement you can work with the physiotherapist to create goals that meet your needs and the demands you place on your body.
The key is to focus on strengthening, stretching, and improving flexibility at your level of comfort. Here are a few types of exercises that your physiotherapist could recommend:
- Strengthening: Weight training & core exercises
- Stretching: Foam rolling & floor stretches
- Flexibility: Yoga & Pilates
Why wait until you are injured and in pain? Optimal health is about taking charge and making sure you are moving in a way that is safe and sustainable for your future.
